Dance Majors
will complete DANC 489, Principles of Teaching Dance
for their Senior Experience requirement

Course Description: This course covers basic methods
of movement education as applied to the teaching of ballet, modern dance, jazz,
and movement for children.
An understanding of anatomical structure and mechanics is utilized in the analysis of student performance in dance class. Specific objectives for dance exercises are explored.
Practical experiences in the planning, organization and structure of technique classes of various styles are designed
to prepare students as dance educators.
Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor.

Theatre Majors
will complete THEA 442, Principles of Directing
for their Senior Experience requirement.

Course Description: An examination and practical application of principles of stage direction as influenced
by play script, acting talent,
set and lighting design, and the technical facilities of production organizations.
Prerequisites: THEA 152R and THEA 230, and THEA 244 or permission of the instructor.
